Take me to the Outback, where everything is clear,
It's there I left part of my soul, and buried all my fear.
If I could feel the sand again and sleep under the stars,
I might just feel alive again, feel closer to where you are.
The dark, cold nights helped me to see,
Much more than what life means to me.
You don't understand, well, not many do,
All that I've experienced, everything that I've gone through.

There are things I've learned that cannot be taught,
Gained important belongings that cannot be bought.
If I were given the chance to return tomorrow,
I'd hop on a plane - only my heart to follow.
It's hard to believe that it's so far away,
Wanting constantly to return, all I do is pray.
Times when each new day brought a brand new hope,
Continually teaching me a different way to cope.
It's amazing to see how we each can change,
A spectrum of values, all of them range.

Who I am now, it's easy to see,
Is a build up of moments that finally set me free.
Feeling alive is more than just walking around,
Living is breathing and loving, taking in every sound.
The world is amazing if you just open your eyes,
You'll see more than you think - and outsmart the wise.
I never forget all the small things I've done,
But I make every moment count...every single, last one.
