Berthold Auerbach once said that "[m]usic washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." I think that this is true...we find songs on the radio that fit our moods in hopes that they will make us feel better, knowing that someone else feels the same way as us. We're often able to hide our true feelings with the facade of a smile, but music is often able to crack the mystical force hiding our true feelings and strike a chord that is able to make a difference to us.
Music is so important. It makes life a little more energetic and bearable at times when it's dull and boring. There are tunes that can pick you up and make you feel good and others that help the tears fall faster. Feelings are an interesting thing when it comes to music. It is able to break smiles and laughter just as easily as it starts them. It fills the dead space in everyday life with something colorful and flowing. Each moving note inspires a new feeling and new thoughts that propel you to think more inspirationally and become more courageous, depending on the song that you're listening to. You just have to find the right tune and everything else will fall into place as needed.

Do you ever wonder where the birds in the sky are flying to, which direction the airplanes are headed and with how many people, and how fast the clouds are moving? I know that I do. It's another one of the many mysteries in life that often go unanswered.
Lots of things in life are open-ended...they leave us wondering about some crazy things sometimes. Yet, we are able to accept the fact that we will never know everything in life. For some people, that won't be good enough, that's why they're really smart and continue studying to find out more answers. Other people tend to leave things a mystery. It's a greater surprise that way. I believe that while ignorance is bliss, bliss can be ignorant. But you just have to have the mindset of being set on your beliefs to not care all of the time, it only drags you down...you should instead be able to see yourself and your life in a good light and not have to inquire about anything else because you will be satisfied with life and all it has to offer in it's secret ways.

Focus and dedication aren't always easy to find when you're close to the finish line. There could be a million miles in front of you, but as long as you see the light at the end of the tunnel, it always seems close enough.
Perspective on things can truly make a difference to the outcome of moments in life. When you get near the end of a job you want time to speed up so that you can be done with your paper, school, or awkward situations. Time works in funny ways...it always goes slower when you want it to go faster. However, I find that if you buckle-down and deal with things that come your way, you will not only be a lot better off, but you'll also be able to get a lot more done and have more of a "can-do" attitude about life and the trials that come your way.
The opportunities in life that only come around once are the ones worth cherishing...even if they aren't everything that you wished for. If you go into things with an open mind, odds are you will enjoy it so much more and you could end up changing your life in some cases. Focusing on what's in front of you at the time is important though because it will be able to help you to see ahead. The determination to get where you wish to go in life will come with focus on the tasks at hand and the growing chances that adapt with them.

Life is too hard to brave alone. Working with other people that you're closer to help to make it easier. When you have someone by your side, it's easier to make decisions, see things clearer, and stay a little more sane.
It's sometimes hard to see things the right way when you're used to seeing them a certain way already. You have to widen your perspective on things in order to see it clearly. Maybe it's a break from everything, a deep breath to start over, or even a new perspective on things. Often times, it's hard to look at something differently than you've always been used to looking at it. While the way that you've always been seeing things isn't wrong, maybe it's not always the right way...there is always room for improvement.

Choices in life aren't always easy ones to make. I find that sometimes it's easier to just "go wherever the winds may blow" and make the best of what comes your way. It turns out that the more exciting and worthwhile things in life are often the moments that we don't plan for. It's what ends up making life more enjoyable and interesting.
While having a plan for everything is really nice and organized, it doesn't always leave much time for exploring other things. There is so much in this world to be seen and experienced that having a plan isn't always ideal. Life isn't designed to have a set schedule...if it was, things would end up working out, but not always in the most magnificent ways that they're capable of. Everyday there are miracles. Whether or not you believe in those isn't relevant to anyone but yourself. In this life what's important is knowing what you want to do with your life and having an outline of how to get there. With a few guidelines, life is much easier to navigate. There's room for mistakes and also room to improve and learn.
The winds of life sometimes blow in odd directions though. You get thrown into situations that you don't want to be thrown into and put up against some tough decisions. It's just important to remember that no matter what happens, it's all for a reason. For good or bad, whichever choice is made will be the right one and will work for the better.

Throughout life, we aspire to be many great things. One is to live a happy and successful life. The people we surround ourselves with and the places we stay tend to have a large effect on our lives and the outcome of our actions.
I tend to rely on the happiness of others in order to have myself be happy. I don't like to see people feeling left out, sad, or without hope. I always feel like I need to be doing something to be helping everyone else so that they can be happy. But maybe that's where I'm not totally correct. While it's good to help other people and make them feel happier, why don't I try to focus on my life and my happiness? It's not easy to do when you're used to always being concerned about other people's feelings. Just be able to kick back and breathe for a while. The stars will align where everything will work out just fine and everything will be okay for everyone.

We all have days every now and again where our minds wander freely. It becomes so random. It jumps from idea to thought and from problem to opportunity so fast that we often aren't able to think straight. It's days like these where we space off in class (or in your workplace) and try to find our happy place, to find somewhere we'd rather be.
When my mind is running at high speed, it's really hard to focus on anything. People expect you to be kept together and focused at school and the workplace; however, breaks are needed every now and again...that's why we have vacations! They were made for us to be able to get away from the people and places that drive us crazy every day. As you sit in your desk, you start coming up with plans of things that you'd rather be doing...things that are more productive than the task at hand. I start to plan things out so that things will go smoothly and I don't have to worry about not getting something done in time. Then I think about the weather, the conversations that I've had with other people previously in the day, and other things that are totally irrelevant. It's funny how the mind works...in mysterious ways, but we're somehow able to pull out of it and be "normal" for long enough until we're able to be set free.

"I promise you that one day I will be successful." I'm sure that we've all said something along those lines to someone in our lives that has truly questioned us. We've all been promised things and have, in return, promised things to others that at the time were feasible. There are moments in life though where some promises become impossible to be kept, while others are able to endure through it all and become a reality.
In life, we all have big dreams. The road to them can be rough, long, and grueling, but once you get there it feels so great (or so I'm told). Along the way, there will be many things that will test you. Promises will be made, things will be gained, and experiences will be plenty. But there will also be many rough patches where promises will be broken and things will be lost. It's not always easy, but you have to be able to be smart enough to adapt and keep moving forward. Odds are, you'll pull through and be a better person because of it all. When everything is said and done, people won't remember you for what you wore, how you spoke, or what friends you had. They will remember you by how good to your word you are, your type of spirit and attitude, as well as most of the things that you were able to accomplish in your life. It would be nice to leave a good impression in all of these areas. Keeping promises is a hard one for most people because not only do you have to remember specifics, but you have to be able to follow through in a timely manner and be successful. People in the world don't always do that, and while it's frustrating and disheartening, it's a part of life that helps to build you stronger and teach you lessons that will be of use to you someday.

When I was younger, I always read those "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books. I loved them and all of the great stories inside of them. There was one story that I still remember very clearly today...never say goodbye to someone you care about without saying that you love them. It's the same with wanting to always end on a good note with things in life. You don't want to have your last thought of someone or something be a bad one, so why not lighten everything up and make the end positive? Spend as much quality time as you can with people so that there will never be a regret at the end of the day, only smiles and good memories.
People in your life will come and go, life isn't fair enough to have them all stay for you. It's then up to us to decide whether or not they're worth the fight on the way out the door. The people who are worth the struggle to keep are most likely worth the heartache...I believe that there are a few of these people in everyone's life. There's something they add to your life that isn't able to be replicated by anyone else that you know - good or bad. The people that aren't worth keeping are often the hardest to let go because, if you're like me, you don't like to have people hurt or leave you. Keeping up friendships and spending time with the people that you care about is so important in life. Those people help to make you who you are and by spending time with them, you might be changing them in a way that you never thought possible.
I always remember to tell the people in my life how much I truly appreciate them. Many of them have been there for me for a majority of the things that have happened to me, as I'm sure that your friends have done for you. Nothing says "thank you" more than just spending time with them. I never forget to say "I love you" before we part, because truth is...you usually never know when you're going to see someone again. Whether you're saying it to someone that is laying on a death bed or to a brand new baby, people like to know that they're loved and appreciated. No one should be able to take that away from them, there should only be constant reminders and gratitude from people who really truly care in your life...and that's all that matters.

With technology today, it's so easy to transmit information across the entire planet nearly instantly. Keeping in touch with people, learning about other places in the world, and connecting with everyone is so important to today's generation.
Technology can often be discarded as a useless tool in life because we don't truly understand all that it does for us. With the internet and other pieces of technology I am able to write this blog for my friends and family, and their friends, take pictures, communicate with my friends from all over the world, and help to promote my friends' talents. There are so many amazing things that can be done today that a lot of people don't recognize. It goes back to me saying that there's so much in this world that we miss out on because we're often too wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life to stop and notice everything. That can be somewhat ironic however, because if we don't notice something, it's because we were spending time on electronic devices trying to connect with the world.
There should be a happy-medium to it all though. With connecting to people from around the world, there should also be some connection to the people around you and the world that is at your immediate fingertips. We should learn from what we are given instead of trying to learn by surfing the internet for the "truth", which isn't always easy to find there.

Everyone has problems, but not to worry, family will always accept you for them. Thank God. You're never able to go back and re-do your mistakes or re-take all those failed tests and assignments, but it sure helps to know that at the end of the day, someone loves you no matter what.
In life, it's always good to have some support from people who truly matter to you. The people that are closest to you tend to have more of an influence on your feelings, ideas, and opinions. There's always a sense of security knowing that you're not alone. Family will always be there to pick you up, put you back together, and get you started again. Even if you resent them for all of the many annoying things that they do to you, in the end they will always have been there and will love you unconditionally. Friends work similarly, thought there's not always a guarantee. I know so many people that resent all that they have...when they should really appreciate it. I think that we should first look to the things in our lives that are our rock, our anchor, before we turn to the things we usually would trust the most. The people we often take for granted might be able to help more than we realize.

Good things come to those who wait. Patience is always a good virtue to have. Quality without time is nothing...the longer you wait for something, it will more often become better. Waiting for things in life is difficult and having the patience to deal with it all is another matter. It's one of life's gifts. Things will all fall into place when time is of the essence.
In today's day and age, we're all so used to getting things that we want and need nearly instantly, so waiting around for something to happen, someone to show up, or good things isn't quite likely by many people. But maybe, the better things in life aren't those that can be retrieved instantly by electronics and such...maybe they're brought to us through time when we'll need them most.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt them. For some reason, I find this statement to be both very true and also horribly incorrect. There are times, more often than not, where your feelings are able to control your emotions and your life.
Every single one of us has that one person in our life that can make us or break us with just a few words. We count on these people for positivity, friendship, laughter, and so much more. We hardly ever want anyone to let us down and I think we sometimes trust people too much to think that everyone will turn around and come back to realize they were wrong after a certain amount of time. Not everyone in this world is like that. It's the true test in life that we never know we take until it's over.
There will be high notes in life and lower than low notes as well, but yet the little music box of life keeps playing. We have to eventually be able to sense when the low notes are coming in order to somehow avoid them. You will never be able to go through life unscathed...it's how you learn. Sometimes the best way to learn something is to fall down and get a few bruises or to play with fire and get burned. Everything heals eventually, although sometimes scars are left behind as a reminder to you. It's those little things that we often forget which is why we most likely repeat things and end up in the same situations. Yet the music box plays on.

Determination is something that we all have inside of us. It's not always easy to find, but it's there for us whenever we need it most. It is able to drive us forward to do many amazing things in our lives that sometimes we normally wouldn't do on a regular basis. It is determination that is often coupled with hope, that I find is the most successful mix for our lives.
Life has a way of throwing all kinds of twists and turns your way that will alter you and your life for the better. Yes, I didn't say "or for the worse." I believe that it will never be altered for the worse. Everything that happens to you over the course of your life shapes you into who you are today. If not for those moments, there would be people that you wouldn't know and places that you'd probably never get to see. Things happen for a specific reason and though those reasons aren't clear in the moment, they will be in time...odds are that you'll be better off in the end.
There are moments in everyone's life that we can all agree, are pretty low. We have times that we wish to forget, and other moments that we wish to relive over and over again. As a senior in high school, I have my whole life ahead of me and it's somewhat overwhelming. I have so many opportunities that I am able to reach for...I just have to have enough strength and determination to reach for them and then have enough hope that they'll work out. It's important to always be looking ahead at what you want in life so that you don't look back on what's happened, but focus on what's important and what will help you to become better for the future.

Inspiration can come from many places. All of which, are the most unlikely to be found. Being able to be inspired is a whole different story though. It's not quite like being able to inspire anyone or instill positive thoughts among people as a whole. It's a feeling all in it's own that creates more inspiration within yourself.
I hear about people all the time, all over the world that are able to do some amazing things. It gets me thinking..."why can't I do something like that?" I totally could change someone's life, travel the world, work for the most well-known company in the country or even the world. It all starts with a little spark of imagination and a lot of hard-work. Life never gives you a direct plan. You have to be able to live off of your instincts and know how to get to the next point. The things that keep us going are the little things that inspire us everyday with what we love. For me, when I see a beautiful scene of nature, good emotion on someone's face, or even if the lighting is right in a room...I immediately want to pursue my passion: photography. Then I come home and write...another one of my passions in life. Although nothing ever comes easy, it's the practice everyday sparked by the little inspiring things in my life that help push me forward to better things.

Some people in this world are really hard to put up with. We then choose to avoid them, ignore them, and cast them away from ourselves in order to "make our lives easier." While it does essentially make our lives easier, what are we doing to the other person? I've been on both sides of this fence and being the person who is neglected is hard...you think that there's something wrong with you, you can be mentally broken. I think that we shouldn't avoid people or awkward moments like this; we should instead watch first from a distance to see what they have to offer.
There are plenty of people that I know that I don't like to be around, whether they be too nerdy, annoying, or just depressing to be around. I try to avoid them as much as possible so that I can think more positively, but then I wonder about the people that categorize me into one of those groups. There are people that I know that don't like me...it's not easy to deal with. I think to myself quite a few times, "what am I doing that isn't good enough for them to like me?" But after some serious thought, why should it matter at all? If people aren't going to give you the time of day, why do you need to concern yourself with them? Move on to better things in your life! You will be much happier, I'm sure.
I think of the people that I don't like to be around as flowers. They start out as ugly little buds of nothing. But over time, there are new things that come about...making them more and more interesting and appealing to me. I've heard it said that you should never be mean to someone because odds are they are fighting a harder battle than you are. Most of the time this has proven itself to me to be true. You never truly know someone unless you sit down and talk to them. Then they will open up to you and blossom into someone you never thought would be under what you see on the outside.

It's always nice to know that you can have help when you need it. There are so many people in your life that are just waiting and wanting to help you to be better and the best that you can be. Knowing that someone is there makes all of the difference, and the touch of a loved one seems to take away the stress.
Life tends to dish out a lot of stress that's not always easy to overcome. No one said that you have to go through everything alone. While there are some things in life that you will have to accomplish by yourself, there are other times where a good friend or family member is able to help you through. It's really easy to think that you're alone in this world...and in a sense, we all are. But what we have to understand and remember is that there are many different people in the world that all go through the same problems, however strange. Some issues are funny, others can be forgotten in a flash, and others can be hurtful...you just have to remember that no matter what, there will always be a tomorrow for things to be better than they were today.

Friday the 13th. Many people are afraid of it because of superstitions, yet what do we really have to fear?
"Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself" a very young, bright Hermione said during a Harry Potter film. I think there's a lot of truth in that. People can talk things up so well that you're afraid to go down that dark street by yourself, you don't want to stay home alone anymore, or you don't want to try a certain food because someone said that it tastes bad. You never know unless it's actually happened to you...or you have credible evidence.
Scary movies are another seed of superstitions. I don't care much to be scared out of my wits, I would rather watch a movie that makes me laugh or have someone tickle me until I can't breathe rather than being scared or snuck up on. Other people may be the opposite though. I know plenty of people who really get in to scary movies and believe in all of the superstitions. I must admit that I agree with a few of them, but I tend to keep it to myself. While many people will live their lives in fear, you can't always be scared of everything. You can't always protect a loved one, stay perfectly healthy your entire life, or even never step on a crack. Accidents are bound to happen. Luck tends to be sparsely spread in the deck of life...you just have to know where to look for it to avoid the unlucky cards.

At the end of the day, what is it that you remember most? If this were your last day on earth, how would you spend it? I know for sure that I would want it to be filled with family, friends, and adventure. I would spend it doing something different than my everyday routine that would be memorable and worthwhile. I would get up as soon as the sun started to peek over the horizon and the day would be jam-packed with something fun for every single second. Although I wouldn't always have a plan, I think that things are more fun and definitely more interesting if there is no set plan to follow.
I think that it's important in life to always do something that appeals to you, to question things, and to try something new everyday. Eat dessert first...because it's THAT good, there is never a stupid question, and remember that you need to take initiative to get things that you want in the world. Be sure that when the sun sets at the end of the day, you have no regrets, no unanswered questions, and no doubt that you accomplished everything on your list. I think that this quote sums it up well: "If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place." - Nora Roberts

If you could change one thing in life, what would it be? Would it be something that's under your control, or completely out of your hands? I could wish for a different hair color and more height, or want to change who I hang out with and how hard I work at things. But none of this would benefit me. Yes, I know it could be of benefit, but then it wouldn't make me who I am right now.
Many people will tell you to look in the mirror and ask if you like what you see. Are you happy with who you are? Do you make yourself proud enough to smile when you see yourself in the mirror? Maybe all you see are the mistakes. Many people can get discouraged by this. I see it as opportunity and personality...character, even.
If I was given the option to change anything about me or my life, I would happily decline. Although I have been through many a tough time in my life and am not always happy with decisions made, situations I've been put into, how I look, or high school in general, I would want to keep it all the same. I wouldn't change it because if I had made any changes to that, who would I be today? Who would my friends be? All the little flaws have helped me to grow and to learn. You can't go through life without a few bumps and bruises.

I love all of my stuffed animals. They've been there watching over me when I sleep so that the boogie man doesn't get me, they have been there when I have my friends over and we stay up all night and talk about things and laugh, and they've been there for every tear I've shed quietly by myself. I can only imagine how much they would have to say if they were able to speak.
I always used to watch Winnie the Pooh and think that my stuffed animals were like that...running off to go on adventures while I was away. Then I felt bad for those stuffed animals that were trapped in a glass box, under reign of "the claw." I would wonder how many different thoughts they had...hoping to be set free by some cute little kid, excited to take them home to their community of toys. Maybe I seem like I'm crazy, but I think that we've all thought these same things at one point or another in our lifetimes. It's not something to be ashamed of.
I think that too many people today don't care enough about what other people have to say to them, and then there are others that care too much. Granted, people work in mysterious ways...but wouldn't it be nice if we could speak our minds and not be judged? Not have to lose people along the way in our lives because they don't like us? That would be nice...But maybe there's a reason that we personify things such as stuffed animals. We all want to believe that there will always be something or someone outside of our family that will always be there to listen, smile, and accept us for who we are every single day. Someone there that will never leave us...but will always be there for a good "heart-to-heart" talk and a fluffy hug at the end of a long and difficult day.

Trust is something that takes years and years to build up, but can be broken in only a second. People always tell you to guard yourself and to not open up until you really know someone and are sure that they won't use you to tear you apart. Judgement isn't always fool proof though, and people have a way of twisting things around to work against you.

Judgement isn't always fool proof though, and people have a way of twisting things around to work against you.
Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it all. Everything you've ever wished for is always more than you can handle. Make sure that what you dish out you're always prepared to take in. Many people don't stop to think and to put themselves in the other person's shoes. I think that's a fault of many people in this world. If we all took a few minutes to trade places with someone else, we'd find that the next person is fighting a harder battle than we are...that we would be wasting our time making it worse and not helping. Lots of people are able to hide emotion underneath a smile, others sit in silence and it's just the last straw that sets them off.
Accepting things that are hard to fathom are always the hardest. People betraying you, failing assignments, and unfortunately death. I've found that there's not a lot of ways to make these situations better. All you can do is look to the future and hope for a better tomorrow...hopefully something good will come of it. It always has to get worse before it gets better.

Friends are the family that you choose for yourself. You love them for the good, the bad, and everything in between...and you accept them for that. You trust them with all of your secrets, spend lots of time together, and most of all, you trust them. Distance isn't an issue...it's like a filter; a test of how good of a friend they really are in your life.
Throughout your entire life, you will have many people that will come and go. Over time though, it's the people that've stuck with you throughout all of the tears, the laughs, and the fights that's worth keeping around. Many of my friends don't live near me, so I've learned very quickly which friends are worth keeping and which ones really aren't worth the effort to keep in touch with. It hasn't always been something that was easy, but I had better friends around that I turned to that helped me through it.
Friends are great to have around. They are a great source of advice, support, and much more. I appreciate every single one of my friends, nationally and internationally. They make me who I am today and I only hope that they are able to say the same about me. There have been many fun and crazy memories made in my life that involve my friends, and I wouldn't want to have shared those moments and memories with anyone else in the whole world.

The gift of being able to think things inside of your head is truly a miracle. I think that we would all be a little troubled, knowing what everyone thought of everything and everyone. Although when you go to church, you pray...and then suddenly, you are able to share your thoughts with someone else.
I always used to wonder if people could really hear my thoughts and if praying would really be understood by a greater something. Contrary to anyone's beliefs in the world, I think that the idea of having someone else being able to tap into your thoughts is strange and scary to us all. We like to keep what's inside of us a secret...it's why all of those words, pictures, and everything else are kept silent. It's the one place in the world where what we "do" isn't judged by everyone, and that in itself is a wonderful gift to be appreciative of.

Second chances...I think that everyone deserves them no matter what the circumstances are. It should be one of the few things in life that is fair, yet some people are selfish and don't give people a second chance to prove themselves wrong.
We all have many moments in our lives where we mess up and just want a fresh start. This is achievable some of the time in the right places and with the right people. While many people judge on first impressions, looks, and other things that are relevant to the person, it is not always those things on the outside that are important to why someone needs a second chance or deserves one.
I know that I've had plenty of times that I've wanted to just rewind and begin again, to have a re-do to do better. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who thinks this either. We all want to be able to have people accept us and have their impressions of us be positive ones; however, this is not always possible. We have to continue to try and make things better until we are given time for a second chance. It is then that we think through everything and value the little time that we're essentially forgiven for our mistakes.

There's something so peaceful about watching the sun set. Seeing the colors fade from bright blue, to shades of red, yellow, orange, and green. Then back to blue, changing into a grayish pink, finally fading into dark blue and black...it's so smooth and happens all too fast. Peaceful things in life don't start off as beautiful, flowing, or calm though, as this does. You have to be able to understand the situation before there is a peacefulness to it.
Group projects and discussions are always difficult. People naturally push and shove, fight to get their way and their opinions across to others, as well as wanting to organize it all the way that they want it. Not everyone can have their way and some people have a hard time accepting that. I always am trying to find the happy-medium to it all. Sometimes it's hard to find, while other times it's an easy fix. In all situations though, I believe that there's always a way to compromise and find peace. I just hope that someday, this can be achieved on a bigger scale than only between 4 people in a classroom.
Telling people what to do is hard, but listening to them is a hundred times easier. I think that if more people in this world would step out of their own circle and listen to one another...compromise on ideas, that we'd be a much more cohesive and happier world than we are today. So many people in the world today are unhappy...why? Because no one is listening to them. I believe that if you take time to sit and listen to someone like you sit and watch the sun set every night, that peace and understanding will be achieved much easier than having an intense discussion about who should be right. Maybe then people will start to realize that we can all be a little more relaxed with peace through understanding.

I can count so many things that I participate in where I think to myself "I have so many better things to be doing right now." Why I even bother with these seemingly useless activities? I have no idea. But I do think that it's good to be involved and keep up skills for just in case you need them...after all, life tends to always supply the unexpected.
Lots of people in this world do things that they don't want to be doing every single day. I honestly don't know a lot of people that really love their job or school. Yet, we still go to school and show up at work because we're either learning new things or earning money. Some people only do things because of the benefits that they get from it. With jobs, you get healthcare and a peace of mind, money, and time to utilize what you spent most of your life (so far) learning in school. I think that if we try to enjoy what we do a little more instead of always taking it for granted, we would get a lot more out of all of our opportunities and be happier with our lives.

With jobs, you get healthcare and a peace of mind, money, and time to utilize what you spent most of your life (so far) learning in school. I think that if we try to enjoy what we do a little more instead of always taking it for granted, we would get a lot more out of all of our opportunities and be happier with our lives.

3 January 2012
I find that it's better to just let things happen the way that they happen, instead of trying to always change them to work in your favor. Some of the fun in life is being able to let a few things go wrong and then laugh at them later. It's how you learn and get better at something. The winds of change are always constant and I believe that it's good in life to be a little different every now and again.
Many people don't like to have change in their lives. They like everything to stay the same so that they're used to it and don't have to adapt to anything. Although I can agree with this, I do like to have some variety...it is the spice of life. Without change, things could start to get pretty boring. Doing the same thing every day can be draining, while a little difference in your day to day schedule could really brighten up your life.

1 and 2 January 2012
It feels so good to be able to say that it's 2012 now. It seems like only yesterday that it was the turn of the century. Time flies if you really think about it...it's kind of scary. Some things never change as time goes on while others come and go with trends.
Looking forward to things is always exciting. Granted, surprises could be associated with it, but it's still nice to know about something that is approaching. It's like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, knowing that there is an ending is nice for certain things. The year of 2012 is such a big year. Not only are there going to be many opportunities available but there will also be many milestones as well as changes. Because this is such an important year to me, I am going to make sure that every moment is one that I can remember forever and be able to learn from.
As the new year starts there are many opportunities that become available for you to change and to start over. Turning over a new leaf seems to be a lot of people's new year's resolutions for a multitude of reasons. There are some things that I would like to change about my life, but when I think about it, I think that the little imperfections in my life are what make me who I am. I wouldn't be where I am now or be able to make the decisions that I have (and will) if I had changed to try and make the little flaws perfect.

31 December 2011
All good things must come to an end, but that's what makes them so beautiful. With every ending must come a beginning...a fresh start. When you turn over a new leaf, you make new decisions and new choices, which ones are worth following through, what habits are worth changing?
As the new year rolls in, there are many new opportunities and choices that come about. Many people decide to create resolutions and do things differently with their lives while some others like to remain the way that they are. I've never actually done a new year's resolution, but I like the idea of them. I instead like to think of the new year as a way to give thanks and remember the past year and the many opportunities that it brought about.

I've never actually done a new year's resolution, but I like the idea of them. I instead like to think of the new year as a way to give thanks and remember the past year and the many opportunities that it brought about.
This past year, to me, has meant the world. I've met so many amazing people, learned some pretty neat things, been to some wild places, and have grown so much as a person. All of my friends mean so much to me and I don't know who I would be without them. They fill my life with happiness, smiles, and love. Most of all, this past year has taught me to just enjoy life and the many ups and downs that it brings; however, I have learned that it's better to stay true to who you are and to make the most of every single day.
As part of my new year's celebration, I would like to wish every single one of my friends a happy new year, filled with many wonderful moments with the people that you love and many new opportunities that will help you grow as a person too. I wish all my friends and family a year filled with happiness, love, and peace, along with the courage and strength to stand up for what you believe in. But most of all, just be happy with who you are, what you have, and live every day like it could be your last.
