7 September 2011
If you have ever seen the Disney Pixar movie "Cars" then you know exactly what I mean when I say that I love the look of neon signs reflecting on an asphalt road. Granted, it doesn't quite look as awesome in real life as it does in animated films, but you can get a similar effect.
Driving at night is almost always fun. There's no traffic and you seem to make every light. I enjoy sitting at intersections watching the lights change and seeing the different colors reflect on the asphalt. My favorite is when it's rained or is raining, and you're sitting at a stoplight. The car in front of you sits over a puddle of water and you can see the whole under-side of the car. I've never actually seen underneath a car until I saw that reflection.
The only bothersome thing about lights in the dark would have to be the bugs. Although, the sound of the bug zapper when it electrocutes a bug might bring some people a tinge of happiness. I always get into my car the next morning and look at my windshield in utter shock as I discover all the thousands of bug guts splattered about my once clean window.
One of the night bugs that hasn't ever bothered me would have to be lightening bugs. When I was little, I would go outside and catch them in my bug house and just watch them glow. I thought that that was the coolest thing, a living thing could create light. They're the little stars that keep rearranging themselves in my front yard night after night.
