As the warmer weather starts to slip away into a pleasant memory and the cold weather starts settling in, we reach for the soft, furry clothes of winter. The intricate patterns and bright colors of the scarves, gloves, hats, and also jackets start to become more prominent.
I like to look at the stitches and see how loose or tight they all are, if there's any snags in the patterns, or if you can see through the holes. I remember I went through a phase in my life where I loved to knit. I knitted scarves and blankets; granted, they were small and not so professional looking, but they were all special in many different ways. You can see the different gaps and the tighter knots that are woven in. I think that each scarf, pair of gloves, hat, or jacket made is different; though, homemade stuff is always the best...each one is different. They are all unique and that's what makes them so special...each to be worn, appreciated, cared for, and remembered in a different way. But most importantly...it's made with love.
