Being lost. Something that we're all so afraid of...well, at least I am. Whether it's getting lost in the grocery store, in a mall, in the city, or in the world, not a lot of people are a fan. While there are benefits to becoming lost, it can also be a hassle for us all.
Life imposes enough stress on all of our lives. Being lost on top of the rest of all the things that go wrong is highly problematic. I tend to get lost often and it takes me forever to get where I'm going. While it's a total inconvenience and stress to me, it's also a time for me to explore. I find myself looking at all the beautiful scenery and weaving new ways through the neighborhoods until I find somewhere familiar to continue my trek. There are times though where being lost isn't always fun. But I think it helps if you remember what Robert Frost wrote in his poem "The Road Not Taken" and look up and forward from there.
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
