Keep people close, tight like a rubber band.
When it all falls apart, to where do we turn?
To somewhere safe, where we're agreed with, not burned.
We never really know how truly lucky we have it,
'Til we see all the differences, the places that are full of havoc.
Whom do we trust with our lives and our secrets?
We lie awake at night, tossing and turning...nothing but sleepless.
It's good to know that in the hardest of times, there's someone to count on.
Something to remember and not to just sit back and yawn.
The fear of being shut out scares each and every one of us,
Just remember that there's nothing more important than never forgetting to smile.
Through troubled times, we've had a few,
We would lay all night and wake to the morning dew,
With the rays of sun, comes a hope so true,
Comes the warmth of a new day across the sky, sparkling blue.
