Though these are hardly anything I would've taken today,
It's funny to know that we're never here to stay.
We are forced to let go after so much time,
The school bells ringing have become a dimmed chime.
It's hard to forget these precious days,
Learning right and wrong, weaving through the constant maze.
Forced to forget the times of grief,
The years fly by so fast, it's truly beyond belief.
When the time has come to finally say goodbye,
It becomes harder for some to spread their wings and fly.
For those of us who can't wait to get out,
There are many people who's heads are only filled with doubt.
Oh wait, please watch while I prove you wrong,
My life played out, like the lyrics in a song.
We know what we're here for, what we're meant to do,
I'm not giving up, I'm sticking like glue.
You can look at me and stare, say whatever you wish,
But my dreams and my confidence you will never squish.
Then I hope that one day we can look back and think,
How all the cute moments were gone in a blink.
Even though they were fast, they helped us grow and realize,
Where we are headed reaches farther than the skies.
