19 September 2011
At the end of the day, is there something on your mind that you accomplished...or wished that you did? Everyone talks about setting goals and how to go about reaching them, but it all depends on the person for which type of goal you choose to go for.
There are many different types of goals I think. There are small ones that help you get through the day, and then big goals that take sometimes a whole lifetime to complete. Whether it's life changing or not, I think that goals are a good idea.
Everyday obstacles and challenges keep us from completing things on our list of things we have to get done. This happens to me every night as I start my homework. It's funny how you can find so many other things to do that will be more useful that doing homework when Beowulf's sitting on the desk in front of you. Every weekend my goal is always the same...clean my room, organize my desk, and do something productive! Yet, I always end up doing those things Sunday night. I should really just make a list of things I need to complete and prioritize them.
Although my goals right now may not be large scale, I have other big goals in the back of my mind that should probably start to take off when I begin applying to colleges and start studying what I want to pursue in life. I think it's cool to make goals for yourself and then be able to look back after you've accomplished something really cool and just have a good feeling about things. It's a great way to kick off a motivational mood to get more goals set and accomplished...not to mention have a more positive outlook on life now that you're more productive.
