Keeping things around is sometimes good and other times can be a hassle. Why do we keep useless items around knowing that we'll probably never use them again?
Speaking of keeping things around, I will admit that today's photo is a stock photo that I took over a year ago in New York. It reminds me of how every time I go to the grocery store, there are so many good things to look at and to buy; yet so many things that we don't need, still we buy them anyways.
Why do we keep things? Is it a matter of the item being a symbol of something that was in your life, or something that will be in your life, a promise of something better for you, a reminder of something intimate? What's its actual purpose if you don't ever use it except to look at and to take up space on your desk? All good questions when you're trying to clean up your room. Some particulars are easier to get rid of than others, it just really depends on how you remember the certain item.
But which is better...the actual item that you have to hold and keep forever, or the memory that takes up no space and can stay forever at no cost?
