People always tell you that you should never look back. Have you ever? What difference does it make whether you stop and turn around to glance or not? I think it's makes a world of difference. There's always that split second where we are all able to change our minds, not always for the better, just what seems better in that moment. None of us has enough self-control to always look forward for everything in life, in that case there would be no curiosity or wonder. When you look back on something, what is it exactly that you're looking for, and when you turn back forward, what is it that you're looking to? In life, there's nothing that is ever set in stone. Decisions can change in an instant, paths can cross at any moment, and a simple look back over the shoulder can change everything. No matter what goes on in life, there's always room for change and growth. We don't always have control, but there are times when it seems as though we're able to stop it.
Things don't always work out the way that you plan them anyways, so why do we try to have so much control over these things? I've written about the "surprise element" in life before, where we would be without it, I have no idea. I think that things are better when you don't look back and just make the most of the things that are presented to you. If you dwell too long on the past, you'll just want to go back and stay there. Something impossible like that never changes. Focus more on the things that you have control over and keep moving forward.
