I always like to assume the best in people, even when good isn't right at the surface. Second chances should be given to everyone. I do think that some people are harder to understand than others. They have many different layers to their personality that aren't always easy to peel away. Over time, we're able to know someone on a deeper level...be able to see them more for who they truly are, instead of the facade that often hides them from us.
Throughout life, there will be experiences that will build you up and break you down. Those moments help to make you who you are today. I find that some people leave their walls up for longer than other people. I think that this is because at one point in their life they were beaten down to a point of mistrust. Things like that make you look at people differently and think in another way.
No matter how people perceive others, I always like to meet people with an open mind and a welcoming mind-set. It makes people feel a little more comfortable thinking that they're not always being judged, like the rest of the world tends to do. Although it's hard to remember sometimes, it's worth trying to keep in the front of your mind...not everyone has it easy in life, so always assume the best, then make a judgement after you get to the true meaning of someone else's life. It will always be different than what you're expecting.
