There are many things in life that are worth living for. Many different moments that will change your life and sometimes help to define it. One of the main purposes of life, I think, is to help others. If you can't always find a way to help them, the least you can do is not hurt them. Eventually, these good deeds will come back to help you...often in more ways than one. It's important to make the most of every second you can in order to try and make the world a little better and more kind. Even if this doesn't seem possible, wishful thinking never caused any harm. It's not always easy to help others...they might not seem like they deserve it, you don't know them too well, or you don't have the time. All excuses that will never amount to the changes you can make if you take the time for someone else.
Helping others in your life is very important. I like to live by the phrase "always treat others the way that you would like to be treated." This lifestyle and thinking can literally take you miles and miles. We often get too wrapped up in our own lives that we don't stop to think or to look around and see what all is happening. When I was little, I remember that my parents and grandparents would always tell me the story of "The Good Samaritan." It really blew my mind to think that no one would stop to help. I live my life in a way so that I never have to look back to see who's left behind. I try my best to stay positive and to pick other people up from the dust of life. It's never easy to know when someone else really needs a shoulder to lean on, even when they say that they're alright. I guess it really all comes down to judgement.
