1 March 2012
Every single day, we try to look our best. We try to impress everyone around us, hoping that we will be liked. Saying things that sound funny, smiling so that we always look happy and approachable, trying to make new friends and be accepted. At the end of the day, our goal would be that we just want people to think well of us. We all want to be able to live in a world where people are able to speak their minds and tell what they think of others. I find that too often in today's world we find people who will put up a front to the people that they don't much care for. Therefore, we never truly know what the rest of the world thinks of us.
Maybe if the world was more honest with everyone, there would be a lot less chances missed, less broken hearts, and fewer let-downs. Sometimes one of the hardest things can be letting something go that you're attached to...but in the first moment of being acquainted, it's easy to lose and forget. If we all tried harder to come to terms with the reality of most situations, there would be a lot more time in life to get on with things and find out what makes you happy with yourself and with your life. I don't think that there's much point to living a life where you're continually trying to make everyone around you like the facade that you create. If someone doesn't like you for who you really are, they aren't truly worth your time, the grief, or the bad feelings.
