The perfect end to a perfect experience is always one of the greatest feelings ever, at least I think so. That's how I felt today as the cross country team played tag on the football field and then ran relays in the pouring rain.
Rain, to me, is such a pure thing. It is clear and washes away the dirt that settles onto things. It helps to make new life and it just smells fresh too. Cooling the earth off and making it clean is so amazing. It's showering for the outside world, except Mother Nature gets the "fresh scent" right.
I love running through the rain, it cools you off, you tend to not care what you look like, and for me...it makes me happy. I love to dance in the rain. I've only done it once, with one of my good friends (you know who you are, because I know you read this). It's such a refreshing feeling, and is something that is carefree and for teenagers; almost like in the movies.
After the storm, there's always a rainbow, and if you're lucky enough...a double rainbow. They're so beautiful and are truly a mystery to me. It's amazing to think that it's just light reflecting off of the water droplets in the sky.
Even though there's no pot of gold at the end of rainbows like we wish to think, it's always nice to know that there's a great sense of satisfaction once we complete something that was challenging and that tested ourselves. There's always a better gift at the end of everything, it's just a matter of buckling down and doing what you need to do in order to get there.
