Stories are the best. Whether they're stories about bad, scary, funny, or intense moments of your life, retelling the good ones is always so great.
Maybe I'm not old enough to say this, but when people ask you about what you thought about certain moments when you were younger, what do you remember about specific moments? Some of my memories of certain things are blurred, middle school would definitely be a big blur for me, maybe high school although it would be a little more in focus. Today was a moment that I think will remain sharp in my memory for a long time, if not for the rest of my life.
The end of high school comes with lots of different milestones and accomplishments...things that finally come to a close. At the end of my cross country meet today, I couldn't decide whether or not to be excited. I was happy that the everyday practices, coach's yelling, the butterflies in my stomach before every race, missing class, etc. was over. But I was sad at the same time because I knew that I would never again be able to run with these same wonderful people that are on my team. I wouldn't be able to run a 4k as a high schooler again.
Cross Country has left me with so many memories and life lessons, it's so hard to believe that it's over already. Maybe that's the good thing about moments like this, the sweet ones come and go and leave lasting impressions to help you through the bad times that may last a while, but never get you down.
