Decorations. Are they needed? Maybe they're just aesthetically pleasing to us for nice occasions. Most people probably think that it's a hassle though.
I think that decorations are beautiful. It's like snow on Christmas... something a little extra that adds an extra aspect to the moment or occasion that is seemingly like the last puzzle piece to fit in the big puzzle. Without decorations and extra "fluff" that gets thrown into parties and shindigs, I think that occasions lose a little bit of their "pop." I believe that it's important to have bright colors and something extra to help the distracted eye wander just a little bit less.
While people say that "it's what's on the inside that counts," I think that that's true, but when you go for a job interview, you dress up to look professional. Many people in the business world base their decisions on first impressions and the decorations that you bring along with yourself can help to make all of the difference.
