6 December 2011
People are often too busy to stop and care about anything that's going on around them when they aren't required to do so. The season of giving is so much more than people tend think it is, and I think that it's worth stopping for a moment to honor.
We often get so caught up in our own lives that we don't pause to help someone else in need. There's excuse after excuse of why we can't do certain things, why we shouldn't do something, or why a certain task isn't right for us. Why not just deal with it and get it done? During this time of year, I think that it's when other people really need someone else to help out. But the big question is, who is going to be that person?
Maybe we should all re-read that story about the good samaritan, and practice to be like the samaritan...as we'd all like to have someone return the favor to us someday when we need it most.
